Revision Surgery with TreVita

What is a Revision Surgery?
For a large number of our patients, their initial bariatric surgery produces the lasting outcomes and beneficial lifestyle changes they are seeking. But for some, weight-loss revision surgery or conversion surgeries may be required to fully meet their goals.
Whether you have the Lap BandGastric BypassGastric SleeveMini Bypass, or a Duodenal Switch, your team of specialized doctors can help identify the reason for complications, determine which procedure is right for you and get you back on track to weight loss. The choice to have one of these revision surgeries should not be taken lightly, we would encourage you to have a consult with one of our surgeons.

Reasons to Revise a Bariatric Surgery
  • To fix a previous gastric band that was loose or slipped
  • Weight gain after surgery
  • If patient’s weight loss surgery was done incorrectly the first time, a revision will fix it

How to know if you qualify for Revision Surgery

Individuals with a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 35 or over and significant weight related health problems (i.e. high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, etc.) are qualified for any weight loss surgery including Sleeve Gastrectomy.

Calculating Body Mass Index is not a perfect science because it cannot account for the weight of your internal tissues, organs, etc. but it provides a close estimate to determine eligibility.
