TRAVEL FAQ

Yes!

For Bariatric: You are allowed to bring one person with you free of charge.  All rooms are equipped to accommodate your guest throughout your stay.

For Plastic: Additional fees would apply for your companions accommodations during your stay at the recovery house. 

Your client coordinator can answer any questions you and your guest may have, including local recommendations. Please keep in mind that your companion meals are not included.

The facilities we work with are issued a special medical tourism pass to ensure a hassle-free border crossing!

Unfortunately, no we do not provide that service.

You are responsible for your travel to San Diego. Once you have your flight info, you send it to us so we can arrange for pick up at the airport and take you to your hotel and surgical facility in Tijuana, Mexico.

Transportation to and from the airport is on us. One of our dedicated drivers will pick you up from the airport and take you directly to your hotel and surgical center in Tijuana.  At the end of your stay, we will drive you back to the San Diego Airport.

All of our client coordinators and surgeons speak English and there is always a fluent English-speaking staff member on the floor at all times (even after hours).

BARIATRIC FAQ

The risks of a complication vary by surgical procedure. Your bariatric surgeon will review the potential risks and complications with you before surgery. If you have a complication after discharge from the hospital, your bariatric surgeon and their teams will assist you in solving the issue.

Your surgeon will advise on that. When you fill out your application and medical questionnaire, we send it to your chosen surgical facility. The doctor will review the information you provide and discuss your best surgical options with you. Then he or she will approve you for one of the procedures offered that best addresses your medical concerns.

Post-operative weight loss can vary greatly between patients and procedures performed, but historically we’ve seen somewhere between 50%-70% total excess weight loss in the first 6 months.

Surgery time and recovery is often specific to the patient and the procedure being performed. That said, most procedures take less than a few hours with a total hospital day not exceeding 3 nights. If, however, you’d like additional time to recover and relax, rooms are available in the hospital’s “hotel” wing for an additional cost. Specific instructions for post-operative recovery once you’re back in the U.S. will be provided by your surgeon.

After your surgery you retain the ability to communicate with your surgeon and their staff. Additionally, you will have access to the TreVita Wellness Subscription to empower and guide you as progress.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction of residence, to register with and use the TreVita service.

Although our surgeries take place in Mexico, our surgeons’ credentials and expertise rival those of top surgeons in the U.S. Your safety and trust are our top priorities, and we’re proud to partner with only the best in the field.

Recovery time typically ranges from two to four weeks and will involve some lifting restrictions post-surgery. However, the exact duration and nature of recovery can vary based on the specific surgery and an individual’s overall health. We understand the importance of your work commitments, so we provide FMLA paperwork to help manage your leave.

Costs vary by procedure, surgeon, and location. After a consult with your surgeon you will receive a fully customized package that is tailored to your specific needs and goals.

Yes, many patients choose to combine procedures—like a tummy tuck with liposuction or a mommy makeover—to save on recovery time and costs. Your surgeon will determine if it’s safe for you.

During a consultation, your surgeon will review your medical history, goals, and expectations, perform an evaluation, and recommend options tailored to your body and needs. During the consult would also be the best time to go over any medical questions or concerns you may have with your surgeon.

Stem cell FAQ

The stem cells we utilize are derived from donated placentas. These placentas undergo a comprehensive screening process to ensure they are ethically obtained and meet the highest standards of safety and quality.

In the United States, receiving donor stem cells is highly restricted and generally not permitted unless the procedure has been independently approved by the FDA. Due to these strict regulations, accessing such therapies can be challenging. However, TreVita offers high-quality stem cell treatments just 50 minutes from San Diego. In Mexico, the regulatory frameworks differ, allowing for the use of donor stem cells in therapeutic applications.
